The ALDP would like to announce that there will be two forthcoming exhibitions in 2010. The first will be the first solo exhibition of long time member artist Andrew Kennedy, featuring a variety of paintings, drawings, prints and mixed media work. This exhibition will run throughout the month of February in 2010. The second exhibition will be a group show featuriong all the artists who work with The ALDP. This show will run for the month of May in 2010 and will again feature a wide range of media throughout from each artist. Describing The ALDP is a difficult task. Essentially it stands for The Associates in Life Drawing and Painting. We work as a group of likeminded artists based in East Kilbride and the surrounding area. The focus of our work is the life model, although all of our members specialise in a wide variety of subject matter and style. We are a non profit organisation and as such do not offer any specific tuition in the class meetings, although any new members are always welcomed with enthusiastic advice and help from all existing members. Our existing members come from varying backgrounds and professions such as artists, students, teachers, waiters etc. The class is aimed at all who have an interest in art and not merely the professional artist.
